Dining in Palm Desert – Tommy Bahama's
Lunch at Tommy Bahama’s
Today (or yesterday actually) we decided to take a road trip 10 minutes into downtown Palm Desert as the sky was slightly overcast. After a short walk two blocks past a few shops we ended up at our intended destination, a place we had been to on our last Palm Desert visit, Tommy Bahama’s! Not only do they have a retail store on the main level, where Tara purchased her favorite tea cups a few years back, but the upstairs restaurant serves some fantastic food.
To start Tara had the Lobster Bisque made with lump Lobster meat, butter, cream and sherry. For mains I had the Tommy’s Great Big Crispy Fish Sandwich. While not what I expected, it was a huge piece of white fish deep fried in a light batter on a toasted bun. However it covered an area far greater then the bun and was really more like fish and chips, but excellent all the same. Tara had the Antigua Quesadilla from the appetizer menu to follow her soup and it was quite large as well. Made with warm Goat cheese, spiced Monterey Jack, tomato jam, lime sour cream and Queso Fresco it too was excellent.
All in all we had great service, an excellent lunch and a good experience that we would reccommend!
